According to the latest data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, two more suspects have been detained in the case of mass riots.
Earlier, in response to reports that appeared in online publications and the media, several citizens suspected of organizing these riots had already been detained.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the actions of the detainees could have caused political tension and disagreements in society. They also suggested that these actions were aimed at undermining stability in the country and worsening internal unity.
A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning mass riots.
During the investigation, two new members of the criminal group were identified and detained: A.K., born in 1966, and K.A., born in 1968. They have been placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The suspects are accused of organizing mass riots and other illegal activities. Searches were conducted at their homes.
According to preliminary data, the detainees were the organizers of a group that called for early presidential elections and spread false information among the population.
Investigative activities are ongoing.
