In the city of Kant, law enforcement officers detained a pawnshop employee suspected of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds, as reported by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui Region.
It is reported that on January 11, 2026, a 23-year-old citizen, T.K., filed a complaint with the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Ata District against S.M., who worked as an appraiser and cashier at the pawnshop "U.P.". She accuses S.M. of issuing fictitious loans at inflated prices and subsequently misappropriating the funds.
According to preliminary data, from November 2024 to the end of December 2025, S.M. managed to embezzle about 4 million soms.
Based on these events, a criminal case was initiated under Article 210 (Embezzlement and Misappropriation of Entrusted Property) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The suspect, born in 1986, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
