
The military prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation into a corruption case involving employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). The suspect — Zh.E.Z., former head of the GKNB department in Bishkek, is accused of organizing a corruption group that included both agency employees and civilians engaged in personal enrichment. This was reported by the press service of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the initiated criminal case under Article 336 part 1 "Corruption" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, five people were detained. The court has decided to arrest them, and they have been placed in custody in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department and the pre-trial detention center-1.
Additionally, the GKNB's internal security service conducted an internal investigation, as a result of which the following measures were taken:
- 6 employees were dismissed;
- 6 employees were suspended from their positions and transferred to the GKNB's disposal;
- 1 candidate was excluded from the recruitment process for the GKNB;
- disciplinary actions were imposed on 8 employees.
The press service also noted that work to identify other possible participants in the criminal activity continues.
