The decade of legal assistance in Kyrgyzstan has concluded, which took place from December 2 to 11 in honor of Human Rights Day. This was reported by Akjol Kalbekov, the chairman of the Legal Assistance Service of the Ministry of Justice, at a press conference at the Kabar agency.
During the ten days, consultation sites operated across the country where citizens could receive free legal advice on various issues. This initiative involved lawyers, attorneys, civil servants, and representatives of local authorities.
Additionally, outreach consultations were organized in correctional facilities, where specialists provided legal assistance and conducted educational work among convicts and detainees.
“The main focus was on protecting human rights and increasing legal literacy,” he noted.
Aichurok Kamaeva, head of the Legal Assistance and Legal Education Department, reported that as a result of the decade, 6,419 citizens received free legal consultations.
