Snow covered the Tabuk region, where the air temperature dropped to -4 degrees.

In the mountainous areas of Tabuk and Ha'il, especially near Jebel al-Lawz, extensive areas were covered with snow. Locals and tourists took advantage of this rare opportunity to ski and sled, as well as simply walk on the snow cover. Photos and videos from these events quickly became popular on social media.
The National Center of Meteorology of Saudi Arabia had previously warned of a potential sharp drop in temperature and the likelihood of snowfall caused by a deep cyclone that struck the region.
Since December 16, due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions and icy roads, all schools in Riyadh have switched to remote learning. The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the population to be cautious and avoid traveling to low-lying areas. Despite this, many residents welcomed the snowy anomaly with enthusiasm.
