Unusually heavy rains that have been ongoing in the northwestern province of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, for several days are causing serious consequences. The downpours have led to flooding, landslides, and damage to road surfaces.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), thunderstorms and intense precipitation are expected in eight regions of the kingdom, including Tabuk. Meteorologists have issued emergency warnings at three levels—red, orange, and yellow—due to the threat of flash floods, strong gusts of wind, and hail.

The six-day forecast predicts that Tabuk and nearby areas are at increased risk: heavy rains may lead to "flash floods," landslides, and soil instability.
On Friday, local authorities reported that heavy rains caused a ground collapse, resulting in the destruction of part of the roadway. To ensure safety, traffic in this area has been halted. Rescue and geological services indicate that the main cause of the landslide is saturated soil. A risk assessment for further collapses is currently underway, and residents are strongly advised to avoid hazardous areas.

In several settlements in Tabuk, particularly in coastal and low-lying areas, flooding, transportation issues, and infrastructure disruptions are being observed. Authorities are keeping emergency response services on high alert.
