Monsoon rains that have hit Southeast Asia have led to devastating floods in several countries, including Thailand (especially in the Hat Yai province), Indonesia (Sumatra island), Malaysia (northern coast), Vietnam (central region), and Sri Lanka. The disaster has been ongoing for more than two weeks, causing mass evacuations and destruction.

As of the evening of November 28, the death toll stands at 321 people. Authorities are engaged in rescuing the affected, restoring electricity and communication, and carrying out infrastructure recovery efforts as soon as the water levels begin to recede, reports Reuters.

In Sumatra, Indonesia, the flood has claimed the lives of 174 people, according to local authorities. The rain has stopped here, but 79 people are still missing, and thousands of families are unable to return to their homes.

In the Padang Pariaman area of Sumatra, 22 fatalities have been recorded, with water levels in some places reaching one meter, forcing people to seek refuge on rooftops. Search and rescue teams have not yet been able to reach the affected individuals.

In Hat Yai, the most flooded city, the rain stopped on Friday, but homes remain underwater, and many residents have no access to electricity. Locals report that they have "lost everything they had."

In Malaysia, the deaths of two people have been confirmed. Tropical Storm "Senyir" struck the coast on the night of November 28. Meteorologists warn of possible new rainfall and increased winds. About 30,000 evacuees remain in shelters.

The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 1,459 citizens of the country were evacuated from flood-affected hotels in Thailand.

The Disaster Management Center of Sri Lanka reported 56 casualties from landslides and floods caused by Cyclone "Dithwak." More than 20 people are listed as missing, and over 20,500 military personnel are involved in rescue operations.
