
Shocks were felt in Istanbul, Izmir, Balıkesir, and Bursa
On Monday, at 22:48 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in western Turkey, according to Reuters based on data from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
According to information provided by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the epicenter was located at a depth of 5.99 kilometers in the Sindirgi area, which is in Balıkesir province. The tremors were felt in Istanbul, Izmir, Balıkesir, and Bursa.
It has been reported that several buildings were damaged in the town of Sindirgi, located in Balıkesir.
So far, there has been no information about casualties.
