According to information from the Anadolu Agency, the earthquake occurred at 22:48 local time in the Sındırgı area, at a depth of 5.99 km, as reported by Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

The tremors were felt in the cities of the Marmara and Aegean regions, especially in Istanbul and Izmir.

Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in an interview with CNN Türk that three buildings and one shop collapsed in Sındırgı, but there were no casualties or injuries reported, and no one was left under the rubble.

He also noted that two of the collapsed buildings had previously been damaged in an earthquake in August and had been sealed off, with plans for their demolition.

The authorities in Istanbul, Izmir, and Manisa reported on social media that there is currently no information about serious consequences from the earthquake, and damage assessment work is ongoing.
