Due to landslides in Indonesia, 30 people died

Landslides caused by heavy rains struck the areas of Cilacap and Banjarnegara at the end of last week. According to Abdul Muhari, a significant number of homes were damaged, and more than 900 people were forced to leave their residences. "We are facing many difficulties in the search operations, including landslide ponds filled with debris, as well as flowing waters that can trigger new landslides due to the ongoing rains," Muhari added.
At least 700 people, including police officers and military personnel, are participating in the search efforts in the Cilacap area. Operations will continue until next week.
The rainy season in Indonesia began in September and, according to the meteorological agency, will last until April. This time of year is associated with an increased risk of flooding and excessive precipitation in various regions.
