Currently, there are 117 municipal schools in the capital, which can accommodate up to 102.7 thousand students. However, according to forecasts from the city hall, by 2050, the population of Bishkek is expected to rise to approximately 1.9 million people.
According to the city hall's plan, all new educational institutions will be located in close proximity to residential areas and will operate in one shift.
The master plan includes the distribution of educational institutions across various districts:
- 59 schools with a total capacity of over 64.8 thousand places in the Lenin district;
- 62 schools that will be able to accommodate more than 68.1 thousand students in the Oktyabr district;
- 35 schools with a total capacity of over 38.2 thousand places in the Pervomaisky district;
- 18 educational institutions with more than 20 thousand places in the Sverdlov district.
