After the tragic accident in the Alai district that claimed the lives of 10 people, preventive measures among drivers have been intensified in the regions.

Due to the tragic accident in the Alay district, where 10 people lost their lives, authorities have begun active measures to enhance road safety in the regions.

Turmush previously reported that on October 30–31, a traffic accident occurred on the Osh—Gulcha highway, claiming the lives of 10 people. In response to this tragedy, employees of the Road Safety Department (RSD) have intensified their efforts to prevent similar incidents. Zamirbek Bakiev, the press secretary of the RSD in the Osh region, noted: “Preventive raids are being conducted both before and after the accident in Alai. Currently, they are ongoing with increased intensity. Our staff is visiting various localities, engaging with residents, and visiting mosques, where they hold discussions about road safety and accident prevention. This work will continue.”



According to the department, over the past 10 months, there have been 706 traffic accidents in the Osh region, resulting in 98 fatalities and 1,177 injuries. Of this number, 213 accidents involved minors, with children mostly being passengers. In these incidents, 18 children died, and 241 were injured. Erzhigit Paizov, the press secretary of the patrol police of the Osh city police department, emphasized: “We conduct accident prevention activities daily. Inspectors create schedules and carry out explanatory work among the population, constantly reminding pedestrians of the need for attentiveness and crossing the road only at designated pedestrian crossings.”

In the city of Osh itself, 225 traffic accidents were registered over 10 months, resulting in 10 fatalities and 288 injuries. Of these incidents, 72 involved children — 3 children died, and 81 were injured.
