“Yesterday, there was a sharp deterioration in weather conditions, which led to the formation of ice and, consequently, the introduction of restrictions for trucks at the Ötmäk pass. A checkpoint was established at the exit from the Talas district, where vehicles not equipped with winter tires were also not allowed to pass. Due to significant snowfall last night, the restrictions are still in effect,” the department reported.
“To prevent road traffic accidents and minimize traffic jams in the Talas region, road services are actively engaged in clearing roads and treating them with anti-icing materials,” the statement added.
