Kyrgyzstan ranks first among CIS countries in fatal traffic accidents

On November 5, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Boobek Salimzhanov, voiced alarming statistics regarding road traffic accidents in the country during an interview on the "Ala-Too 24" television channel. Kyrgyzstan ranks first among CIS countries in terms of the number of fatal accidents.

In particular, in 2024, there were 7,423 recorded traffic accidents, resulting in the deaths of 514 people. Additionally, 636 citizens were injured, some of whom became disabled. In the first nine months of 2025, the number of accidents increased to 9,078, claiming the lives of 636 people, while nearly a thousand individuals faced injuries and disabilities.

Salimzhanov noted that "these are the most horrifying figures among CIS countries."
