According to law enforcement data, the incident happened on November 1 at around 1:20 AM in the village of Tash-Koro, on the 67th kilometer of the Osh — Erketcham road. A Howo truck, heading towards Gulcho, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Tesla Model 3 that was traveling towards Osh.
The truck was driven by a 24-year-old driver from the Uzgen district. As a result of the accident, both the driver of the Tesla and four of his passengers— all men aged 33 and residents of the village of Ken-Jylga— died.
Only the driver of the Howo and his passenger survived and were taken to a medical facility. They reported that they were transporting coal from the village of Bakmal to Gulcho. Preliminary data suggests that the cause of the accident was a brake system failure, which led to the truck veering into the oncoming lane and subsequently colliding with a concrete barrier.
According to unofficial information, the victims were returning from a funeral related to another traffic accident that occurred on October 30 in the same area, where five people also died— three from the village of Ken-Jylga and two from Osh.
This is already the second fatal incident in the Alaï district in two days. Recall that on October 29, on the Bishkek — Osh highway, a truck collided with a Honda Stepwgn, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to four others.
