According to Tengrinews, the incident took place on the Samara – Shymkent road, near the village of Belkopa, when a DAF truck collided with a passenger minibus "Gazelle." Preliminary data indicates that the truck crossed into the oncoming lane. As a result of the collision, both drivers and ten passengers died at the scene, including children aged three and nine. One teenager is in serious condition in intensive care.
After the collision, the "Gazelle" was completely destroyed, leaving only a pile of metal from the vehicle.
By order of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov, a special government commission was established to investigate the causes of the tragedy, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev. Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov has taken personal control of the investigation into this fatal incident.
