According to information provided by Milana Turgunalieva, a candidate of pharmaceutical sciences and co-chair of the Association of Palliative and Hospice Care of Kyrgyzstan, there is a serious problem with the hospitalization of palliative patients in the country. She discussed this in an interview on "Birinchi Radio".

Every year, about 20,000 people in Kyrgyzstan need palliative care, and although the legislation provides for the right to such care, there are no hospices for adults in the country.

Turgunalieva noted that this year the "Maksat" center was opened, which provides palliative care, but it is only a small department. There are also departments in the National Center for Oncology and Hematology and in the branch in Osh. However, as the expert emphasized, there are virtually no places for the hospitalization of palliative patients in the republic, as this does not fall under surgical or oncological profiles, which complicates their admission.
