- More than 40% of organizations reported the need to cut or halt vital services such as legal, medical, and psychosocial assistance, as well as crisis shelters, due to a lack of funding.
- Nearly 80% of organizations reported a decrease in access for victims to necessary services, and 59% noted an increase in impunity and the normalization of violence.
Earlier this year, UN Women had already expressed concern about the closure of many women’s organizations working in crisis conditions, and these concerns have been confirmed.
Furthermore, the authors of the report point out that the financial crisis occurs against the backdrop of a global trend against women's rights observed in one in four countries. In conditions of funding shortages, many organizations are forced to focus on emergency assistance, leading to a reduction in long-term programs aimed at systemic change.
