The conference, organized by the Congress of Women, became a platform for active exchange of opinions. The Global Summit held in Beijing marked an important milestone in renewing commitments made at the Beijing Conference in 1995. It was then that global benchmarks for working in the interests of women were established. One of the key aspects of the recent summit is its practical orientation.
Ambassador Liu Jiangping emphasized that as a woman and diplomat, she considers the summit important for the international women's movement. She shared her thoughts on four aspects: the outcomes of the summit, the progress of women in China, China's contribution to the global agenda, and cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. All the key points voiced by the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping provide a clear direction for promoting women's rights, using Chinese solutions and wisdom.
According to Liu Jiangping, women in China have never had such great opportunities for self-realization. Their confidence and energy in the new era have reached unprecedented levels. China's achievements in improving the status of women in healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation are recognized by global experts. For example, China is among the top ten countries with the best maternal and child health indicators, and the average life expectancy of women in the country exceeds 80 years.
Liu Jiangping also noted that over 690 million women in China have reached a standard of living of average prosperity, and women make up more than 40% of the workforce. They actively participate in the modernization of the country and contribute to public governance.
China will continue to play a leading role in the global movement for women's rights. As part of supporting this initiative, Chairman Xi Jinping announced a series of measures, including allocating $10 million to support UN Women and launching 1,000 social projects to enhance welfare. A Global Center for Women's Capacity Development is also planned to be established.
Liu Jiangping emphasized that these measures give new momentum to global women's development and demonstrate China's responsibility as a powerful state.
She noted that Kyrgyzstan and China have long-standing ties in supporting women, actively exchanging experiences. The All-China Women's Federation and the Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan work closely together, which contributes to deepening relations.
Kyrgyz representatives have repeatedly visited China, participating in forums on women's development and interacting with various women's organizations. The Chinese Embassy actively supports projects aimed at women's education, including computer literacy courses and the opening of sewing workshops. In September, a batch of 83 laptops was delivered to create a digitalization center in Bishkek.
President of the Congress of Women Zamira Akbagysheva noted that the digital economy opens new opportunities for Kyrgyz women. The main obstacles lie not in the ability to learn, but in access to quality programs.
UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grave also highly praised China's achievements in women's rights, emphasizing that this serves as an example for other countries. He confirmed support for Kyrgyz women and the Congress of Women, highlighting the importance of gender equality for socio-economic development.
Dr. Sayed Sadik, representative of UN Women, added that the empowerment of women is of immense significance for economic prosperity.
