In the previous year, 2024, the republic was in 101st place in the same ranking.
The country rankings are based on eight key indicators, including: constraints on government powers, absence of corruption, transparency of government administration, maintenance of law and order and security, protection of fundamental rights, regulation of law enforcement, civil and criminal justice.
Kyrgyzstan received the lowest scores in the area of corruption (0.29 points, 129th place) and in the criminal justice system (0.32 points, 117th place).
The best score for the republic was recorded in the area of law and order and security, where it ranks 61st with 0.76 points.
Among the CIS countries, Kazakhstan ranks 66th, Uzbekistan — 81st, and Belarus — 105th. Russia is positioned at 119th. Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are not represented in this ranking.
In the regional context of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan stands in 12th place out of 15 countries. Georgia leads, followed by Montenegro and Kosovo. The worst results are shown by Belarus, Turkey, and Russia.
At the global level, Denmark tops the rule of law ranking, followed by Norway, Finland, Sweden, and New Zealand. At the bottom of the list are Venezuela, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti, and Nicaragua.
