The highest number of infant mortality cases was observed in Bishkek, where 284 cases were registered. The second place is held by the city of Osh with 203 cases, and the third place is occupied by the Jalal-Abad region with 196 cases.
In the Issyk-Kul region, 77 infants died over the eight months, in the Osh region — 109, in the Chui region — 55, in the Batken region — 72, in the Naryn region — 23, and in the Talas region — 27.
During the same period, 90.7 thousand children were born in the country. The highest number of newborns was recorded in the Osh region (20.2 thousand) and the Jalal-Abad region (19 thousand), while the lowest number was observed in the Talas region — 3.7 thousand.
The total number of deaths from all causes was 21.6 thousand people, of which almost half — 11.6 thousand cases — were related to diseases of the circulatory system.
There were also 1,325 deaths from external causes registered, among which 543 cases were related to traffic accidents, 188 to suicides, and 51 cases of alcohol poisoning. As a result of COVID-19, 7 people died over the eight months.
