On November 4, President Sadyr Japarov arrived in Egypt for an official visit, organized at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Egypt.

As noted by tourism expert Azamat Zhamankulov, this is the first visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to this Arab country.

“Egypt holds leading positions among Arab states in terms of culture and development. I am confident that this visit will help strengthen ties between our countries, which have so far been mainly official. However, business contacts, especially in the tourism sector, also have significant potential,” he said.

According to Zhamankulov, Egypt has become a popular destination for residents of Central Asia and the CIS countries. Tourists choose two main directions: cultural and beach tourism.

“Tourism plays an important role in Egypt's economy, accounting for 8.5% of the gross domestic product, which is equivalent to 15 billion dollars. This is a significant amount, comparable to our budget. Kyrgyzstan has many opportunities to study and borrow Egypt's experience,” he added.

Regarding cultural tourism, the key destinations are Cairo, Alexandria, and Giza. Beach tourism is represented by resorts such as Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, where the main hotels and sanatoriums are located, the expert emphasized.
