In the winter months, the border guards of Kyrgyzstan continue their service in high-altitude and hard-to-reach areas, including the section of the state border with China in the Naryn region.
According to the Border Service, temperatures in this region can reach −30 to −50 degrees.
Despite the harsh conditions and severe cold, the servicemen of the Border Service are on duty at their posts around the clock.
