In Kyrgyzstan, there is a serious crisis in the institution of the family, and according to Deputy Kamila Talieva (District No. 1), it is necessary to focus not on reforming the alimony system, but on strengthening family ties. She stated this on January 19 at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee dedicated to the budget.

Talieva emphasized that the number of protocols related to alimony reaches 60,000 — this is a real tragedy.
“As for alimony, Dastan Dalabayevich [Deputy Dastan Bekeshev], you made a very sharp statement that could become a meme: ‘What is the child's fault?’ Indeed, the child bears no guilt, and their fate should not be destroyed. First and foremost, everything depends on the family. The institution of the family is under threat, and while we say that the alimony system is outdated, in reality, the problem lies in the destruction of the family itself. This statistic of 60,000 is a catastrophe,” she noted.

The deputy also added that more attention should be paid to strengthening the institution of the family. Despite the fact that amendments were adopted in the 7th convocation of parliament that toughened penalties for alimony defaulters, this has not led to a significant increase in the number of those fulfilling their obligations, she concluded.
