He noted that a bill initiated by the government is currently being considered in parliament. This bill contains proposals to tighten responsibility for fatal traffic accidents and driving under the influence of alcohol. Bekeshev added that it is important to include a clause in the bill stating that forced towing should only be applied in exceptional situations.
According to him, "the business of vehicle towing is actively growing due to high service prices — 1,600 soms to tow a car a distance of three to seven kilometers. At the same time, the vehicle may be damaged, and no one is held accountable for that."
The parliamentarian believes that towing is necessary, but only in special cases: "for example, when a fine is not sufficient; when it is truly necessary to move a vehicle that obstructs emergency services or is parked in a prohibited area, such as a space for the disabled," he added.
