In 2026, it is planned to plant 50,000 young trees in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. The city's mayor, Aibek Junushaliev, announced this in a podcast organized by the "Kabar" agency.

According to the mayor, the necessary contracts have already been signed, and the supply of seedlings will begin in February.

“We will not immediately plant the trees in the urban area when they arrive. Initially, the seedlings will be placed in a nursery, where we can assess how they adapt and take root. Last year, in 2025, we imported 1,500 trees, but many of them dried out after planting. Considering this experience, we decided to first give the seedlings time to acclimatize in the nursery,” explained Aibek Junushaliev.

According to agronomists, up to 20% of seedlings do not survive in Bishkek. This is due to a lack of watering, violations of agricultural norms, and other factors.
