In 2025, 144 drivers working in municipal buses were dismissed in Bishkek. This information was reported by Arthur Omurzakov, the chief engineer of the fleet No. 2 of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," on the air of "Birinchi Radio."

Of the dismissed drivers, 57 were placed on a blacklist, which deprives them of the opportunity to return to work in the future, as well as to get employed in other municipal institutions such as "Tazalyk" or "Bishkekzelenstroy." For example, dismissal can occur for serious violations, such as running a red light, which is considered a gross violation of traffic rules, Omurzakov added.

He also emphasized that regular meetings and explanatory activities are held with the drivers; however, there are still dishonest employees among them.

“We have no other means of influence besides dismissal. We cannot apply stricter measures. We take all possible administrative actions, including dismissal. To monitor compliance with traffic rules by bus drivers, we conduct raids on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at the busiest stops. In 2025, about 150 such checks were carried out,” the chief engineer reported.
