A memorial plaque was installed at the historic mosque in Balıkçı

The historical mosque was founded by the first qazi of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, Kemel Azhy Shabdan Uulu, the son of Shabdan Batyr.



A solemn ceremony was held in Balakchy for the installation of a memorial plaque dedicated to the historical mosque founded by Kemel Azhy Shabdan Uulu (1882–1948), who was the first qazi for the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan and the son of the famous Shabdan Batyr.

State Secretary Arslan Koichiev was the initiator of the installation of the memorial plaque. In this mosque, Kemel Azhy served as imam from 1946 to 1948, actively engaging in religious educational activities, which contributed to the preservation of spiritual values and the development of Islam in the region.


The event was attended by the authorized representative of the president in the Issyk-Kul region, Bakyt Zhetigenov, the Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, Abduaziz Kary Zakirov, the chairman of the Council of Scholars, Zamir Rakiyev, as well as descendants of Shabdan Batyr and representatives of the local community.


At the conclusion of the event, the Quran was recited, and participants offered prayers in memory of Shabdan Batyr, his sons, and Kemel Azhy.
