At a press conference at the "Kabar" agency, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FPU) Muradil Jumadilde uulu spoke about serious problems related to the absence of employment contracts. He noted that the younger generation is not always aware of their rights in the labor sphere and what a trade union is.
To change this situation, the FPU, together with the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Kyrgyzstan, launched educational open lessons titled "My Labor Rights," which are held in schools across the country.
"Already 17,000 students in grades 9-11 have participated in these classes. We chose this age group because they are students today and will become students and workers tomorrow. It is important for each of them to know their labor rights," he emphasized.
According to Muradil Jumadilde uulu, the main task of these lessons is to convey information about labor legislation and the importance of formalizing official employment contracts to children. "People come to us with injuries sustained at work. For example, one day a woman came to us with her 17-year-old daughter, who lost three fingers while working in a café. In this case, we could not help because she did not have an employment contract. Therefore, we consider it extremely important to educate young people about this knowledge in advance," noted the chairman of the FPU.
