In Kara-Balta, the installation of high-tech "timers" on streetlights has begun, which contributes to the automation of the lighting system and reduces electricity consumption.

This information was announced by Kamchybek Esenbaev, head of the lighting sector of the municipal enterprise "Universal".

According to him, the work on installing the equipment is actively ongoing. Currently, "timers" have already been installed at 10 electricity metering points, covering about 30 streets. In the near future, it is planned to complete the installation at all 70 points managed by the enterprise.

These devices are set up so that the street lighting turns on at 6:00 PM and turns off at 10:00 PM. Then the lights come back on early in the morning, around 6 AM, to provide illumination for people heading to work and attending to morning tasks. After sunrise, the streetlights automatically turn off, which helps save electricity.

At the moment, the system mainly operates on the streets of the eastern part of the city, including L. Tolstoy, Zhambyl, Cosmic, Sverdlov, Liza Chaikina streets, and the Bakai quarter. Installation will continue on 40 Years of Kyrgyzstan Street, and in the future, it is planned to cover the entire city,” added Esenbaev.
