A Man Illegally Held a Golden Eagle in the Kara-Kulja District

A case of illegal detention of a golden eagle, which is protected by the Red Book, has been discovered in the territory of the Kara-Kuldzhinsky district.

According to information from the Osh regional department of the Service for Environmental and Technical Supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, a complaint was received on January 27, 2026, regarding a local resident illegally keeping a golden eagle at home.

In response to this report, inspectors, in collaboration with representatives from NABU and the "Bars-2" group, carried out the necessary operations. As a result, they identified the offender. Following the inspection, a protocol was drawn up based on Article 262-1 ("Export, transportation, storage, and sale of illegally obtained wildlife") of the Code of Offenses, and a fine of 20,000 soms was imposed.

The golden eagle that was confiscated was released back into its natural habitat.
