Green Belt of Bishkek. 50 thousand saplings have arrived for the greening of the capital



A meeting was held at the city hall, attended by Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev and Gayane Minasyan, the World Bank's practice manager for environmental issues in Europe and Central Asia. This information was provided by the municipality's press service.

During the discussions, attention was given to current initiatives being implemented by the mayor's office under the "Air Quality Improvement" project. In particular, they considered the concept of the "Green Belt," as well as the pilot implementation of heat pumps in residential areas and other environmental activities.

The mayor elaborated on the main projects being carried out in the city, including the construction of an eco-technological plant, as well as the modernization of the operations of municipal enterprises "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant," "Bishkek Teploset," and "Bishkek Teploenergo." The cleaning of the Alamudun and Ala-Archa rivers and measures taken by the Municipal Inspection were also discussed.

Aybek Junushaliev added that 50 thousand saplings have already arrived in the capital, which will be used for the greening of the city.

"I hope that our cooperation will lead not only to improved air quality but also to the formation of a positive image of Bishkek as a green and environmentally sustainable city," he noted.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for the continuation of mutually beneficial and productive cooperation.
