The international reserves of the Kyrgyz Republic have reached a historic record, exceeding the mark of 10 billion US dollars. This was reported by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the president's administration.

According to him, the chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, Melis Turgunbaev, confirmed this information, emphasizing the country's gold and foreign exchange reserves.

“Today we have crossed the threshold of 10 billion dollars in international reserves for the first time. This is a significant achievement, and such a level brings us closer to developed countries. Kyrgyzstan is now part of the so-called elite club of countries with high reserves,” Turgunbaev stated.

Orunbekov also noted that the current volume of reserves is almost twice the size of the republic's external state debt, which provides reliable protection for the currency market against potential external shocks and guarantees coverage of the country's imports for almost nine months.

He added that the increase in international reserves is an important indicator of macroeconomic stability and growing confidence in the financial system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
