In Naryn, the Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanat Saginbaev, held a meeting with the parents of children with disabilities who receive services at the "Meikin" rehabilitation center.
According to the information from the department's press service, this center provides comprehensive assistance to children with mental disorders and young people with disabilities, training their parents and preparing personal assistants, which contributes to improving the quality of rehabilitation and increasing its accessibility.
During the meeting, parents raised important issues, including the need to create rehabilitation centers in every region, adapted educational programs in schools, as well as increasing staff and improving working conditions for teachers and psychologists working with children with disabilities. Measures of support for single mothers raising children and the need to create sports and leisure clubs for children with special needs were also discussed.
“The development of rehabilitation services is a priority for the state. It is important for parents and community organizations to unite to form and promote initiatives through the activities of non-profit organizations,” noted Kanat Saginbaev.
He emphasized the significance of active parental participation in the process of state social ordering and called for joint project development with NGOs and social protection agencies to obtain state support.
“We are interested in local initiatives turning into real projects that will change the lives of children and their families,” added the minister.
