Ichthyologist specialists report that roach is found only in the Chuy region. It reaches sexual maturity in its second to third year of life and usually weighs between 50 to 100 grams. For young anglers, this is a stroke of luck, while for experienced ones, it is a support.
In the region's water bodies, it is always possible to catch a few roach for fish soup, but it is especially pleasing when a trophy fish is caught.
“At the Toktosh water body, they have started catching roach weighing up to 500 grams. It is also caught in the summer. This is likely related to the presence of pike in the area, which, by eating small and sick fish, helps improve conditions for the others. Like many leaseholders of water bodies, I leave the pike in the water to help the larger fish grow. In the fall, I released catfish and am eagerly waiting for spring to see how they survive the winter,” added Vladimir Grebenev, a fish farmer from the Jayil district.
