In Kyrgyzstan, the number of cars has reached almost 2 million

In Kyrgyzstan, 1 million 909 thousand 61 cars are registered, as reported by Meder Mashiev, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agrarian Policy and Environmental Protection. According to him, there has been a 13% increase in the number of cars, which creates certain environmental problems.

The country's vehicle fleet consists of various types of vehicles: 972 thousand run on gasoline, 339 thousand on diesel, 56 thousand use gas, and 37 thousand are hybrids. In 2025, the republic imported 15 thousand 278 electric vehicles, which accounts for only 0.8% of the total number of cars. In 2024, the share of cars younger than five years was at 1.5%, and this year it has increased to 4.5%.

In Bishkek's public transport, there are 1 thousand 447 gas buses, 120 electric buses, and 12 regular 12-meter buses. The city has also installed more than 100 electric charging stations for electric vehicles, noted Minister Mashiev.
