During the meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, the First Deputy Minister of Defense Talaybek Sharshiev reported that in 2024, income from alternative service amounted to 714 million soms.
According to preliminary estimates by the Ministry of Defense, in 2025, revenues from alternative service are also approximately equal to 750 million soms. Sharshiev added that it is difficult to determine the exact number of citizens who have completed alternative service, as the process of staffing and preparing for military actions is still ongoing.
Additionally, Sharshiev clarified that if the income from alternative service and the program for officers are combined, the total amount in 2024 was 1.2 billion soms.
