In the Tyup District of the Issyk-Kul region, the Kurmontinsky Cement Plant will resume its operations.
According to information provided by local authorities, the plant was known during the Soviet era for the high quality of its cement, which was even exported to Kazakhstan. However, in the following years, the enterprise fell into decline and began producing only lime.
The plant was transferred to state ownership and then sold to investors for $4.5 million. They intend to invest about $100 million in the construction of a new modern plant by the end of 2026.
It is planned that the new plant will start operations before the end of the current year, creating between 200 and 400 new jobs. Experts believe that this project will have a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the region.
