

The construction of a daily regulation pool (DRP) for accumulating water from the Kara-Kol canal is planned in Batken. This was announced by the authorized representative of the president in the region.
Deputy Presidential Envoy Abdirashit Tashbaltayev, the district akim Danir Imanaliev, and the mayor of Batken Seytek Kulubaev, along with the heads of water management services and irrigation specialists, inspected the current state of construction and restoration work on the Kara-Kol canal. During the visit, the layout of the water accumulation facilities was also discussed.
A total of 23 million soms have been allocated from the republican budget for the construction of a 14 km canal and a head water intake unit. Additionally, the Aga Khan international organization provided a grant of 24 million soms. Furthermore, 16 million 900 thousand soms have been allocated for the implementation of the head water intake project of the Kara-Kol canal.
With the completion of this large-scale project, 1200 hectares of land will be provided with irrigation water, significantly improving irrigation conditions in the surrounding villages.
By utilizing the water resource of up to one cubic meter per second with drip irrigation, it is planned to double the area of cultivation.
