Ministry of Health strengthens control at airports due to Nipah virus

Comprehensive measures are being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic to prevent the spread of the Nipah virus. This was stated by the Minister of Health Kanbek Dosmambetov at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

The head of the ministry emphasized that the republic is actively cooperating with neighboring countries, particularly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The exchange of information and the study of action protocols between states is part of this work.

“The priority has become medical examinations for students returning from India. Funds allocated by President Sadyr Japarov will strengthen security measures. Modern automatic thermal imagers will be installed at international airports. Currently, such equipment is already operational at Manas Airport, and similar systems will appear in the airports of Osh, Tamchy, Karakol, and other international air hubs in the coming days,” the minister added.

He also noted that the situation is under control and does not cause serious concerns.
