In Kochkor-Ata, located in the Nooken district of the Jalal-Abad region, a project has been launched to install underground garbage containers. The first container has already been tested, and now waste will be collected separately into two categories.

The mayor of Kochkor-Ata, Azamat Narmatov, reported that this year it is planned to install 60 such containers. This innovation is aimed at reducing surface pollution and eliminating unpleasant odors. “We all notice how garbage often accumulates around traditional trash bins, and bags and plastic are blown away by the wind. To make our city look neater and cleaner, we decided to install underground containers. Ordering them from China is quite expensive, so we turned to local builders and specialists who helped us create the first prototype, installed on Turgenev Street,” the mayor said.

Narmatov also noted that waste is now divided into two categories: biological (organic) and plastic. “Local residents quickly adapted to the new system and have already started sorting their trash. In the future, we plan to introduce triple containers. Biological waste will be disposed of according to regulations, while plastic will be sent for recycling. We will regularly clean the containers to avoid unpleasant odors. We believe this will help improve cleanliness in the city,” he added.

Every day, about 70 cubic meters of garbage are collected in Kochkor-Ata.
