Kyrgyzstan and France Strengthen Partnership in the Field of Ecology and Technical Supervision

On February 6, a meeting took place in Bishkek between the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Almaz Musaev, and the Ambassador of France to the Republic, Nicolas Fay.

During the meeting, representatives of the French side confirmed their readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's participation in the COP21 conference, scheduled for 2026 in Yerevan, and offered assistance in organizing side events related to biodiversity issues.

Additionally, possibilities for joint cooperation in the fields of biodiversity conservation, protection of nature reserves, and protection of rare animal species were discussed.

Almaz Musaev emphasized the ongoing work in the field of biodiversity conservation, including the development of the National Strategy and Action Plan in this area (NBSAP), and noted the vulnerability of Kyrgyzstan's mountain ecosystems and glaciers in the face of climate change.

As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in further developing and strengthening cooperation.
