Dastan Jumabekov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, proposed to amend the silence law by adding an exception for the celebration of Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the draft law, which is currently at the first reading stage, already contains a similar provision for New Year's Eve: from 10:00 PM on December 31 to 3:00 AM on January 1, citizens can disregard the silence requirements.
In this regard, Jumabekov put forward an initiative to extend a similar rule to August 31, when Independence Day is celebrated.
