A series of events dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan took place in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region. On this day, both official and cultural events were organized.

The activities began at the memorial to internationalist soldiers, where participants laid wreaths and held a memorial prayer. The ceremonial part then moved to the "Cholpon" cinema, where representatives of the district administration and the military commissariat delivered welcoming speeches. Veterans were awarded honorary certificates for their services to the Motherland, and the district House of Culture prepared a festive concert for the guests.

An important part of the program was a visit to the district museum, where veterans could view a special exhibition dedicated to the Afghan war, which included archival photographs and documents.

From 1979 to 1989, 70 people were sent from the Kochkor district to fulfill their international duty, of which 20 were conscripted from other territories. The war left a significant mark on the history of the region.

Unfortunately, four young soldiers did not return from the battlefields: Arstanbek Asanov, Zarylbek Berdaliev, Sherimbek Ibraev, and Tynarbek Soltonkulov.

Many veterans have passed away during peacetime, suffering from the consequences of injuries and illnesses.

Currently, there are 24 veterans of the Afghan war registered at the military commissariat of the Kochkor district.
