The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan reports positive changes in the field of viticulture.
As of the end of 2025, the area of vineyards in the country amounted to 2870 hectares, which is 225 hectares more compared to 2024, corresponding to a growth of 8.5%. The gross harvest reached 5990.1 tons, increasing by 1% compared to the previous year. The average yield reached 20.5% per hectare.
To support this sector, from January to May 2025, grape seedlings were imported from Serbia, which underwent quarantine phytosanitary inspection and were selected based on criteria of virus-free status and technical characteristics.
In the Leilek district of the Batken region, initiatives in viticulture are actively developing. In the rural area of Jany-Jer, local cooperatives are engaged in growing seedlings of the "avatar" and "kishmish" varieties. There are also plans to create a new nursery that will specialize in the production of seedlings of the "avatar," "Monikur Singer," and "kishmish" varieties.
Furthermore, to improve digital services in the agricultural sector, an Agroportal is in operation. This platform provides farmers with the opportunity to receive government services online, as well as to keep up with current news and information in their field. Currently, services available include tariff quotas, registration of breeding farms, obtaining a fishing license, as well as biological protection and agrochemical services.
The Agroportal is created for the digitalization of agriculture and the formation of a unified information space for all participants in this sector.
