In honor of February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day, events for schoolchildren are being held in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region.

This information was announced by Bolot Zhaiyloobaev, chairman of the veterans' council of the Batken war in Ak-Suu.

According to him, the goal of these events is to instill patriotism among the youth. Students are provided with information about military service, as well as military equipment.

“Today, the youth are not showing interest in serving in the army. We, representatives of the older generation, strive to show them the right path and inspire them to be patriots. Despite the presence of a subject on basic military training in schools, practical materials are lacking. In cooperation with the military commissariat, we show high school students in grades 9-11 weapons and talk about service. We have already visited six educational institutions. We are pleased that after practical classes, the students' attitude towards service changes. Our goal is to ensure that every citizen of Kyrgyzstan becomes a patriot and defends our land and people,” noted B. Zhaiyloobaev.
