From February 26, an exhibition titled "Rerikh: Herald of Beauty. The Master, the Son of the Master" will open in Bishkek. This event is timed to coincide with the centenary of Nikolai Rerikh's Central Asian expedition and the centenary anniversary of Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, the founder of the International Rerikh Center in Moscow. This information was provided by the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

Svyatoslav Rerikh, a world-renowned artist and scholar, returned the invaluable heritage of his parents from India to their homeland in 1989 and founded the museum named after Nikolai Rerikh in Moscow. Lyudmila Shaposhnikova became his trusted representative and the permanent director of this museum.

Lyudmila Shaposhnikova is an outstanding orientalist, writer, philosopher, and traveler, as well as a distinguished figure in the arts of the Russian Federation. She served as the general director of the Nikolai Rerikh Museum from 1990 to 2015 and is an honorary member of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.

From 1975 to 1980, Lyudmila Shaposhnikova independently retraced the route of Rerikh's Central Asian expedition (excluding China). The result of this unique journey was a photo album titled "From Altai to the Himalayas," in which she appears not only as the author of captivating texts but also as a talented photographer.

Shaposhnikova is the author of 35 books and over 500 articles dedicated to both the creative work of the Rerikh family and the culture and history of the peoples of India.
