In Bishkek, plans are being made to change the payment system for municipal parking lots and spaces

In the mayor's office of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, plans have been announced to change the payment system for municipal parking lots and spaces. This is aimed at improving the organization of parking space, reducing the traffic load on city streets, and creating a more convenient environment for the operation of the urban transport system.

As part of these changes, a draft resolution of the Bishkek City Council has been developed, titled "On the Regulation of the Activities of Municipal Parking Lots and Spaces in the City of Bishkek."

According to information from the mayor's office, the draft includes the following key points:

- approval of the Regulation on Municipal Parking Lots and Spaces in Bishkek;

- determination of the fees for the use of parking spaces;

- introduction of a special tariff for parking lots equipped with automated time tracking systems (hourly payment).

In the central districts of the city, a zonal parking payment system is planned to be implemented, where the cost will vary from 30 to 50 soms depending on the specific zone.

For parking lots with automated time tracking, the following hourly rates will apply:

- from 30 to 50 soms for the first two hours;

- 20 soms for each subsequent hour.

The announcement emphasizes that the introduction of an automated system will significantly improve administration, reduce the time during which parking spaces are occupied by vehicles in high-demand areas, and create conditions for the gradual modernization of parking infrastructure.

The draft resolution is available on the official website of the Bishkek City Council.
