Erlist Akunbekov, serving as the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, recently called on farmers not to conceal information about livestock numbers during a coordination meeting dedicated to preparations for the agricultural census.

He noted that some citizens may not fully understand the purpose of the census and, based on the false belief that it could lead to denial of social benefits or taxation, hide information about the number of livestock, poultry, and the state of their farms.

Akunbekov emphasized that accurate data on livestock numbers is extremely important for organizing animal vaccination, rational planning of veterinary activities, and ensuring the necessary volume of vaccines.

In this regard, the minister urged farmers to provide correct and reliable information about the number of livestock, the state of their farms, and the size of land plots during the census.

Furthermore, he added that the agricultural census is a key element for effective planning of the national economy and the development of agricultural policy.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled to take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical services will actively participate in this process.

The census will cover the accounting of cultivated areas of households, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as livestock and poultry numbers.
