On March 20, 2026, a festive Eid prayer took place at Old Square in the capital, attended by thousands of believers. The press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate reported on the measures taken to maintain law and order during this time.
In total, more than 1,000 police officers were deployed across the region, with over 200 law enforcement officers ensuring safety directly at Old Square in Bishkek.
From early morning, personnel switched to an enhanced service mode. The main efforts were focused on monitoring the area where the prayer was held and the surrounding territories, organizing special posts to regulate traffic and prevent congestion, as well as conducting explanatory talks with citizens about the importance of maintaining public order.
According to official data, no violations or incidents disrupting public order were recorded during the event.
